Our Process

Restoring & Recolouring Joinery

Restoring is what we love doing, so much so that we want to share our process with you.

We use the best equipment in the industry to ensure you get the highest quality of workmanship. Our work is gauranteed leaving you 100% satisfied.


STAGE 1. PREPARATION

CLEANING

Joinery is cleaned with correct solvents and soapy water to make sure the substrate is free fom dust and contaminants, and further wiped down to ensure paint adhesion. A final wipe down given with a tack rag to remove any dust on the substrate.

SURFACE PROTECTION

Rubbers, glass, walls, ceilings are all well masked up and protected from over spray. A portable booth would be set up if any interior joinery is being restored to ensure your personal belongings are protected.

STAGE 2. FINISHING

SANDING

The substrate would be sanded for adhesion purposes, We only use the recommended grit sand paper, this depends on the condiiton of the joinery. Any repairs such as corrision, putting or dents would be rectified at this stage.

ETCHING

An etch is also applied to all bare aluminium to improve adhesion.

TOP COAT

Two coats of colour would be applied in spray form. Metallics and pearls would require a further two clear coats.
